After the very first Formula 1 sprint qualifying has been completed and dusted off, Sebastian Vettel starts from P8 in the British Grand Prix. The German made up two places in the sprint race after starting the session from P10. He drove well, but his old rival Fernando Alonso held up the four-time world champion in an epic battle for P7.

The sprint qualifying was 17 laps and 100 km long and ended in 30 minutes. This was also confirmed by the Aston Martin when it commented on the sprint qualifying.
“I just think the race was probably shorter than the media session so everyone had an answer. I want it to be quick, ”said Sebastian.

Regarding his performance in the sprint, Vettel said: “I tried, but didn’t get close enough [to Alonso] in the places where I had to. Anyway, got the flag! ”

As Sky Sports reports, Max Verstappen won the sprint qualifying for the start of the British Grand Prix from pole position. The P1 at Silverstone marks its fourth pole in a row in the 2021 season.

Charles Leclerc starts on P4 in front of the McLaren duo Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo. Alpine Fernando Alonso was the star of the sprint qualifying and will start the race on P7 ahead of Vettel. George Russell has secured a P9 start tomorrow, while Esteban Ocon will start on P10.
