The “Overtake Award” sponsored by F1 partner Crypto.com will reward the individual driver who makes the most passes during the 2021 season.
According to F1, the first award of its kind is intended to “celebrate the courage of drivers who take courageous steps in the pursuit of success”.
New broadcast graphics are introduced live during each race to “signal overtaking opportunities and potential moves” and to help fans follow the progress of each driver as they compete for the prize.
According to F1, Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel got the most overtaking maneuvers out of the field after the first 11 races of the season.

The new overtaking trophy complements F1’s growing list of awards, which already includes Pirelli’s pole position award, the DHL awards for the fastest lap and the fastest pit stop, and the Driver of the Day.
