Nico Hülkenberg is on the sidelines another year ago. The German driver, who last drove for Renault in 2019, was unable to find a seat for 2021 despite some impressive performances at Racing Point last year. Even so, there have been rumors lately that Nico might connect with the newly renamed Aston Martin team.

However, the role would not be as a starting driver. Aston Martin already has Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll as incumbents. However, team boss Otmar Szafnauer confirmed that they are talking to Hülkenberg about the role of the test and reserve driver.
Hulkenberg also hinted that talks are ongoing, but knowing this won’t be a starting role, he’s not overly excited.

He said (translated via Google): “Sebastian already has a teammate, so he (I) is not really going to get in the car, that’s a fact.”

Perhaps the timing of Hulkenberg’s substitute roles worked against him. His performances were certainly eye-catching, but with most of them nearing the start of the season, the teams would have quickly forgotten about it given the immense action and drama we saw over the course of the season.
However, the German is not yet giving up his F1 ambitions.
SUBMERGED DEPTH
Nico Hülkenberg definitely wants to join the F1 starting line-up in 2022
The ex-Force India rider announced that he will have to expect more super sub appearances this year to put his name in the spotlight for next season.

He said, “I want to stay in Formula 1 orbit and try to find a permanent cockpit for 2022. Who knows what’s going to happen this year. I just let it come to me and then I just have to do it again like 2020. “
There are reports that suggest a few new teams could be added to the starting line-up for 2022. One of them is a team that is supposed to represent Monaco. Hülkenberg would definitely be the most sought-after driver without a contract. He would certainly hope that the F1 grid will be expanded so that he can get into the racing action consistently.
Until then, Nico had to struggle with testing the Aston Martin. Do you think Nico will ever get the chance to make his first F1 podium? Let us know in the comments below.
