Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel moved to Aston Martin this season after a hard few years at Ferrari. The German has taken the turn of the 22-year-old Lance Stroll.

And although his move to the Silverstone team was led by some difficult races at the beginning of the season, he quickly made a comeback and secured his first podium with his new team in the sixth race.
Vettel is currently in 10th place in the drivers’ standings, 16 points ahead of his team-mate Lance Stroll. Even so, Aston Martin’s CEO Lawrence Stroll believes his son Lance Stroll is on par with the four-time world champion.

Walk at eye level with Sebastian Vettel: Lawrence Stroll
As quoted by BBC Sport, Lawerence Stroll has no concerns about Lance’s underperformance. Additionally, the Aston Martin CEO believes Stroll Jr. and Vettel are competing on the same level.
“I think Lance did an exceptional job. He is 22 years old. His appearances whether [being] on pole or several podiums. This year he competes with Sebastian. You’re probably roughly balanced, ”said Lawrence Walk.

“So I have no concerns or feelings that Lance is underperforming. As he grows he will get more experience, and as he gets more experience he will get stronger. “
Can Aston Martin win championships anytime soon?
Lawerence Stroll, who has a 16.7% stake in Aston Martin, knows that the Silverstone team will have to wait some time before they can fight for titles.
“I don’t think we can count on a win four or five years ago,” said Lawrence Stroll.
“Of course we all know that success in Formula 1 or any other business doesn’t come overnight. It takes years to use the right people, tools, and processes.

“But we are building and investing in our team with the ambition to move up the grid year after year and our ultimate goal is to become world champions,” added Stroll.
Aston Martin, in his previous role as Racing Point, finished fourth in the constructors’ championship last season. This year, however, the team from Silverstone is fighting with 44 points in P6.
