Sebastian Vettel had a mediocre season in 2021. He joined the Aston Martin Cognizant team earlier this year after a successful 2020 season. But the changes to the regulations for 2021 hit the team hard. That meant they didn’t have a very competitive car for most of the weekends.

But the four-time world champion used his experience to reach P2 in Baku and Hungary. He recently finished a well run P7 in Mexico. But Vettel mentioned that he is not happy to end up in midfield and take a few points.

I’ve got used to winning and being at the forefront: Sebastian Vettel
As reported by Planetf1, the German driver mentioned that he is not used to finishing P8, P9 or P10. He also said that such a low result isn’t why he’s still in Formula One.
“The satisfaction when you cross the finish line just doesn’t feel like that anymore,” said Seb Vettel.

“Once you’ve won a race and stood on the podium and then get this massive boost from the fans and, in a sense, confirmation … you drove a really good race, no mistakes, but it’s the 10th, the ninth, the eighth, that’s not really what i’m here for.
Maybe I’m spoiled. I’ve got used to winning and being at the top, ”said the Aston Martin driver.
Although the results may show it now, he has looked like the same person a few times this year. He was on the verge of winning the team’s first race in Hungary before disqualification. Had it not been for a slow pace in Budapest, the German driver would have led the race and from then on maybe got the fuel under control.
He has shown more consistency with the team than his teammate. But he would hope to come back with new cars next season and fight among the big boys again.
