Who will get the seat next to Hamilton?
Since his one-off appearance at Sakhir last year to represent the 7-time world champion. Russell was strongly advised to use the Silver Arrows to get pen to paper. The 23-year-old is part of the renowned Mercedes driver academy and could be called up in due course.
As fate would have it, this time is now. The 23-year-old is in his final year of contract with Williams and has not yet signed an extension with them. Meanwhile, Valtteri Bottas sees Mercedes that his contract will expire at the end of this season.

That poses a big question to team boss Toto Wolff. Is he giving Bottas an extension? Or will he get Russell to team up with their world champion driver for the 2022 season?
