Sebastian Vettel’s disqualification test
The German driver was delighted to secure P2 for the Silverstone team after a long and tough battle against Alpine’s Esteban Ocon. However, the mood in the team subsided when it became known that Vettel had been disqualified for the race. The reason: 1.0 liter of fuel could not be taken from the car.
However, the Silverstone team certainly has over 1.0 liters of fuel in the car. According to her, they had 1.74 liters of fuel and therefore decided to appeal against Vettel’s disqualification.

In an interview with Motorsport, team boss Otmar Szafnauer said: “According to all our calculations, after taking the 300 milliliter sample, there should still be 1.44 liters of fuel in the car.
“And we just have to show the FIA that it was inside, and 300 milliliters are enough for their fuel sample. And that will be the basis of the calling.
“So the car is confiscated. So let’s just go in, find the fuel, and measure it. We’ll find out, ”concluded Szafnauer.

How has the German fared this season?
Things didn’t go well for the German in his new chapter with Aston Martin; he had struggled in Bahrain since the start of the season.
At the Monaco Grand Prix, the 34-year-old scored his first points for the team with fifth place.

And on the next race weekend in Baku, Vettel took second place and gave Aston Martin the first podium of the season. However, there is still a long way to go to get back to its old form of consistent points and podium.
Vettel is currently in 12th place in the drivers’ standings with just 30 points. With the summer break he would like to expand his momentum and achieve a good result at the Belgian GP.
