Aston Martin has started to present itself as a rebranded Formula 1 team with the launch of its new website and social media accounts.

January 1, 2021 was Racing Point’s changeover date and marked the end of its lifespan on Twitter.

Instead, everything has been switched to Aston Martin’s British Racing Green color, which will almost certainly reflect the livery of their cars for the 2021 F1 season.

These cars are of course driven by Sebastian Vettel, who comes after six years at Ferrari, and Lance Stroll, the son of team owner Lawrence Stroll.

While the Aston Martin F1 official website still has a “Coming Soon” aspect for updated content and no information about the team or drivers is available yet, it does provide an in-depth look at the company’s motorsport history going back to the 1920s goes back.

More recently, the name has returned to F1 as Red Bull’s title sponsor and technical partner – “a relationship that also led to the extraordinary Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar due to go into production in 2021,” as stated on the website.

Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman of Aston Martin, said: “The return of the Aston Martin name to Formula One against such a colorful and dynamic history in the sport is a truly exciting time for all of us to enjoy this great British sport do have car brand.

“The Formula 1 grid is the right place for Aston Martin. This is where that brand should be, and I know this next chapter in our racing history will be incredibly exciting for fans of Aston Martin and F1 racing around the world. “

As one of the first tweets from Aston Martin shows, they last competed at the 1960 British Grand Prix as a manufacturer in Formula 1 with cars by Roy Salvadori and Maurice Trintignant.

Last year, Salvadori achieved the best F1 result of P6 at both the British and Portuguese Grand Prix Aston Martins and won the Le Mans 24-hour race for the company together with co-driver Carroll Shelby.

Shelby, played by actor Matt Damon, was a central figure in the 2019 film Le Mans ’66, which also carried the title Ford versus Ferrari in markets outside of Europe.
