
Aston Martin, the newly rebranded Racing Point, raised many eyebrows last year when it unveiled a car that looked very similar to the 2019 Mercedes. The FIA also fined the team after Renault protested.

Racing Point takes several parts of its car from the Brackley Squad. They are customer teams for Mercedes engines and also use their suspension. Since then, the Racing Point Team has been called the cheeky Pink Mercedes.

Mercedes AMG replied to the tweet with: “Sounds familiar.” Both teams often interact on social media. In this particular scenario, Mercedes pointed cheekily at their engine.

Aston Martin livery reveal
We expected the luxury racing team to sport a green livery after Cognizant was announced as a sponsor. However, the team recently announced that it will keep BWT as a sponsor.
This opens up various possibilities of how the paintwork could look. Who knows, maybe the Aston Martin car will show us a green and pink look.

“BWT’s distinctive pink branding made the Racing Point challengers unavoidable on the grid. Therefore, the Formula 1 Pink Panthers are unlikely to be a thing of the past. The official launch of AMR21 will show whether or not there has been any form of compromise, ”a report said.

The team this year is focused on achieving a top 3 place in the championship standings. They lost that position to McLaren by just seven points in the season finale last year.
The competition will be much tougher this season as McLaren is also launching the Mercedes engine and Renault is renaming itself as Alpine.
