After the first free practice, in which Max Verstappen was only slightly faster than the two Mercedes drivers, he had to be content with third place in the second free practice. The Dutchman was not satisfied with his Red Bull.
Mercedes seems to be fast so far. Verstappen set a time of 1: 17.310, three tenths slower than Valtteri Bottas’ best time. Honda does well with Pierre Gasly in sixth place. Tomorrow it will show whether Mercedes is actually faster than Verstappen or whether the Dutch driver sets the fastest time in qualifying.

Summary VT2: Bottas keeps Verstappen and Hamilton away from the fastest time
The Alpine team seems to be doing well, Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso finished in P4 and P7. Aston Martin can also be satisfied with two places in the top ten.
