Then came the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where Vettel overtook team-mate Lance Stroll in 9th place in the drivers’ standings after taking his first podium for the British team.

What did Marko say?
In an interview with Auto Motor Und Sport, the Austrian said that Vettel stood out as a better driver than Stroll with the podium in Baku.
“He’s number one on the Stroll team, which Dad probably won’t like,” he said, glancing sly at Aston Martin’s partner Lawrence.

Lance Stroll looked consistently faster than Vettel on the first 4 race weekends and held his nose 5 points ahead of the German.
But since the beginning of the race weekend in Monaco, fate turned on its head. Stroll has only won 4 points in the last two weekends, compared to Vettel’s 28 points.

Marko praised the former Red Bull driver as he showed his true pace after a short series of fights in Azerbaijan. “That was Vettel as we know him. How he jumped on the podium, ”said the Austrian.
“But above all his overtaking maneuvers. The fights with Gasly. The first round. I am very pleased that this change has taken place in a relatively short period of time. I hope that is also the case with other courses. “

So can Vettel continue to deliver and bring his team further up? Can Aston Martin fight for P3 on the constructors’ table alongside Ferrari and McLaren?
