After registering his name among the greatest of Formula 1, Sebastian Vettel retired at the end of the 2022 season. The final two years for the German with Aston Martin were underwhelming, to say the least. Vettel registered just a single podium finish during the stint, finishing P2 in Azerbaijan last year. While he has just started enjoying life away from the track, fellow countryman Mick Schumacher feels he might make a comeback.

Both Mick and Sebastian will stay away from regular F1 action in 2023. While Mick’s absence is more of a forced occurrence, Vettel’s is a conscious decision. The duo is set to race together as teammates at the Race of Champions next month. While they will represent Germany, Mick hopes they’ll be teammates again when Seb comes back to F1.

“But I also know that I can always call Sebastian for advice, which is great.”
“We’ve seen in the past that just because a driver quits racing today doesn’t mean he won’t be back in three years. My dad did that, for example,” Mick added. “I’m sure Sebastian will consider coming back when he gets tired of sitting at home. I hope we’ll be teammates then.”

Hamilton said, “I was just sitting here thinking most drivers are coming back. You’re probably going to come back. You’ll be back. Formula 1 has a way of sucking you back in.”
“I don’t think it’s ‘a goodbye show’, it’s ‘see you later’, because he’ll come back. I’m going to put my money on that he’s going to come back, just take a sabbatical, like one year, maybe two years maximum, and then come back.”
