The 2022 car was presented before the race at Silverstone. For the first time, fans and drivers were able to see what the new car looks like in real life. Sebastian Vettel, however, was not very happy with the look of the new car.

2022 cars not aesthetically pleasing

Vettel is asked by Ziggo Sport whether Formula 1 is taking the right path with the new 2022 car. “Well, it depends what the goal is. When it comes to aesthetics, it doesn’t look great. But in the end, when it does the job and allows racing to be closer and the sport to grow, it is that’s the right direction. “

But Vettel knows that even ugly cars will be beautiful again by themselves: “You get used to everything. From 2008 to 2009 we had a big shift. Everyone said the cars were ugly. In the end, everyone got used to it and fell in love with you. “In 2009, the F1 cars had large, wide front wings and narrow, high rear wings, which many fans did not like.
