
Sebastian Vettel moved to Aston Martin earlier this season. Where he struggled with Ferrari last year, he has already shown some great races in his new team. Nevertheless, the German driver will retire at some point, says Gerhard Berger.
The DTM boss still sees Vettel as outstanding, but knows from his own career that the German will come to the conclusion that quitting is the best option. “There comes a point where you can no longer keep up at the highest level, but still enjoy the race. Then you start to wonder where you can go, ”said Berger in an interview with Formule1.nl.

Berger then secretly hopes that Vettel drives in the DTM. “I would be happy if at some point he said: ‘I won four titles and had a lot of success, but now I just want to have fun’ and then he decides for the DTM,” he says. “With us, he can then focus on the topic of sustainability.”

Vettel still struggled in the first four races, but his performance has increased significantly since the Monaco Grand Prix. Where he finished fifth in Monaco, he finished second in Azerbaijan and ninth in France.
