
The world’s biggest celebration of motorsport and car culture, the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed is currently taking place in West Sussex, England – and Aston Martin’s new Valkryrie hypercar has just made its debut there.
These were the key points of Aston Martin’s participation ahead of the festival, which runs through Sunday 11 July:

What Aston Martin said in advance
In its festival announcement released earlier this week, Aston Martin said after canceling last year’s show it was looking forward to delighting the crowds at the event with a series of show-stopping activities.
“With a long history at Goodwood, the British ultra-luxury manufacturer is pulling out all the stops to ensure fans and customers alike are excited and delighted at one of the UK’s biggest public events since early 2020,” said the legendary British automaker.
The star of the show
The maker of the formidable sports cars of the super spy character James Bond was keen to replicate the debut of its highly anticipated hypercar, the aggressive-looking Valkyrie.
“The crowd will be thrilled to see – and hear – Valkyrie takes on the famous hill climb past Goodwood House in the game of ‘Supercar’,” enthused the Aston Martin team.

The car we want to see
The equally new Vantage F1 Edition in the brand new Satin Aston Martin Racing Green is sure to be one of the festival’s biggest draws.

Aston Martin says the Vantage F1 Edition – the official Formula 1 safety car – will sprint the 1.9 km circuit with increased power and improved performance.
“The Vantage F1 Edition will certainly attract attention both on the mountain and in the supercar paddock,” says the manufacturer.
What else is in the line-up
The V12 Speedster, one of only 88, will also be featured in the latest DBR1 Designer Specification, which pays homage to the legendary Le Mans winning car.

The supercar paddock will also house DB11 and DBS Volante, while the First Glance paddock will house the highly acclaimed Aston Martin SUV; DBX driven up the mountain by Aston Martin’s chief engineer Matt Becker.
The drivers also include Aston Martin CEO Tobias Moers, EVP and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman and three-time Le Mans winner Darren Turner, all of whom will compete in the Hillclimb over the weekend.

“To celebrate the brand’s long-awaited return to Formula 1® with the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula OneTM team and just a week before the Great Britain Grand Prix at Silverstone takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.”
“Under Valkyrie’s leadership, the Vantage Official Formula 1 Safety Car, DBX Official Formula 1® Medical Car and the Vantage F1® Edition will climb the famous hillclimb alongside the historic DBR1 and LM7 racing heroes,” the company said.

Next year, it will be a century since Aston Martin made its Grand Prix debut (in France in 1922), but the brand has had ongoing success in sports car racing over its 108-year history, including an overall victory in the Le 24 Hours Mans 1959 with the famous DBR1, driven by Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori.

On Saturday, July 9th, 2021, the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula OneTM Team’s race car, AMR21, will be driven by none other than Aston Martin Cognizant Formula OneTM Team driver Lance Stroll himself.
The AMR21 is at the heart of the festival and will be the only 2021 F1® car to appear in the Goodwood events year.
The festival will be broadcast on ITV and Sky over the weekend.
