Getting pushed around doesn’t make Aston F1 winners

Getting pushed around doesn't make Aston Martin F1 winners

Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll says his team will “do anything” to become world champions in Formula 1.

With the Silverstone-based company poised to make a new announcement of senior technical staff signing, it doesn’t hold back with its ambitious expansion program.

The construction of a new, state-of-the-art factory is underway and the construction of our own wind tunnel has also given the go-ahead.

Ahead of the team’s home race at Silverstone this weekend, Stroll said that both he and the team did not hold back in their determination to make Aston Martin’s return to F1 a success.

“If you are going to be a driver, I believe that for lack of a better word, you will not be successful in this sport or any other sport,” he said. “I don’t know that I was a disruptor. I stand for what I think is right. I haven’t made a significant investment in this company so as not to compete for world championships. So of course we will do whatever it takes, within the rules.

“And being a gentleman, I don’t think we’ve done something that other teams wouldn’t want, which is to build a fantastic organization. I say it when I think something is wrong. “

Stroll believes the team’s new factory and wind tunnel, which will be completed within the next two years, will give him an edge over his competitors.

He is also confident that the team’s aggressive recruiting program, which will increase the number of employees from 500 to 800, is going according to plan.

“We are constantly hiring brilliant new high-level technical and technical talent,” he said. “The result will be a technical and technical strength for the company and a depth equal, if not better, to that of any other F1 team.

“We now announce almost weekly that we are hiring brilliant new high-level technical and technical talent. By the way, this week we will announce another very experienced member of another team who is coming to us. “

But despite the huge investments, Stroll is realistic that it will be some time before Aston Martin can take the lead in F1.

“We’re in a good place right now,” he said. “As you all know, we share the Mercedes wind tunnel, so we are in one of the best wind tunnels.

“It’s not as good as having our own, but it’s not like we sacrifice by being in a bad wind tunnel.

“In terms of equipment, we have definitely outgrown our facilities. We are building many temporary facilities around our location to accommodate these new hires.

“I think we’ll be in the new place in 18-20 months or by the end of next year. We don’t really compromise on anything. Formula 1 I don’t think that like any other company you can realistically plan to win four or five years ago. I think that’s realistic what it takes. “
