Formula 1 announced today in a press release the formation of a Crypto.com-sponsored Overtake Award to reward the individual driver who makes the most overtaking maneuvers throughout the season.
The award, which is the first of its kind, is intended to recognize the courage of drivers who take courageous steps in search of success.
While the Crypto.com Overtake Award will be announced as the F1 return from the summer break for the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix this weekend, it will be awarded to the driver who has made the most overtaking maneuvers throughout the 2021 FIA Formula 1 World Championship and the winner will receive a trophy at the end of the season.

New broadcast graphics are rolled out live during each race to signal overtaking opportunities and potential moves, and to help fans track the drivers’ progress in the hunt for the Crypto.com Overtake Award, which records the number of overtaking maneuvers throughout the race Campaign. In addition, other innovative content from the Crypto.com brand will also be launched on the official F1 social media and digital platforms.
The award strengthens the partnership between F1 and Crypto.com, which began last month when the world’s fastest growing cryptocurrency platform became the seventh global partner and title partner of the sport of the three F1 sprint events this season.
The first sprint event at Silverstone received positive feedback from stakeholders and fans, and the remaining trial events are set to take place in Monza in September and later in the season in São Paulo.
