Fernando Alonso is one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time and is labeled as a natural racing talent. When the rest of the drivers on the grid are out vacationing or taking a break from the sport, Alonso is seen suiting up for other racing ventures. The Aston Martin driver is an avid kart racer and spends a lot of his free time there.
Racing in icy conditions must never be easy, even if you are Alonso. However, the Spaniard made driving on ice look effortless, back in a race during his Ferrari days. Karting has always been his strong suit, which is what the 2-time World Champion had to drive around. Alonso spun at the beginning of the race to move to second last, but what happened next surprised everyone on track.

In just under two laps, he got up to speed and reached the front of the pack to win the race! No one ever doubted his ability behind the wheel of a car, but going from the last position to first before the end of the third lap was very impressive indeed.

Fernando Alonso showing no signs of slowing down at 41 years old
Alonso is currently the oldest driver on the grid at 41 years old. He left F1 at the end of the 2018 season but made a return just a couple of seasons later. He joined the Enstone-based outfit Alpine, which was formerly known as Renault. It was with the French team that he won two World Championships that cemented his legacy as an all-time great in the sport.
The Oviedo-born driver spent two years with Alpine, and it seemed like he was enjoying the progress made by the team. Unfortunately, the appointment of Otmar Szafnauer derailed his ambitions to succeed with them. Szafnauer was an open critic of the Spaniard and wanted a younger driver on the team. When four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel announced that he would retire at the end of the 2022 season, Alonso immediately revealed that he would be the German’s replacement at Aston Martin.
