Sebastian Vettel from Germany and the Aston Martin F1 team prepare to start the grid ahead of the British F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone on July 18, 2021 in Northampton, England.
Ex-driver Ralf Schumacher thinks Sebastian Vettel should maybe get a few points at Silverstone rather than screw him up.
After the British Grand Prix last weekend, Vettel stayed at the Silverstone circuit where he joined a group of fans and part of his personal team to help with the cleanup.
With 140,000 spectators on race day alone, Vettel was supposedly the one who organized a cleanup.
Neither the German nor Aston Martin informed the general media as it was not intended for a photo opportunity; Instead, the 34-year-old wanted to make a difference.
Armed with rubber gloves and a face mask, Vettel filled several large bags with rubbish from the stands on Hamilton Straight South. But while his compatriot appreciated the gesture, Schumacher would have been even happier if Vettel had also scored a few points.
“I thought it was great that he picked up the rubbish,” Motorsport-Total.com quoted him as saying to Sky, “but I would have been happier if he had also picked up a few points.”
After a pointless start to his time with Aston Martin, the four-time F1 world champion, who scored no points in the first four races of the season, Vettel achieved three top ten results in a row, including a podium at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
However, he is again in the middle of a pointless run in which he has not scored any points in three races in a row.
“That’s a shame,” said Schumacher.
“I would have been happy for him if this momentum had continued from the races in which he was very strong.”
Vettel admits it was a “misjudged” calculation that cost him at Silverstone when he spun against Fernando Alonso in the race.
Aston Martin later exhibited their car with a cooling problem.
Sebastian Vettel is a four-time world champion who earns more than $ 30 million annually.
Still, he spent hours after the #BritishGP clearing the trash from the grandstands because he had long voiced his environmental concerns about Formula 1.

“The weekend looked promising and without all the problems I should have made it into the points,” said Vettel.
“I’m very disappointed to lose the car in a wheel-to-wheel battle with Fernando. I’m not sure what exactly happened, but I misjudged it, lost grip and spun.
“After that I was right at the back. In the end we didn’t finish the race because the team retired the car with a cooling problem.”
