Verstappen on Eau Rouge: “The problem is the tire wall”

Russell and Williams surprised everyone with a terrific lap in Q3. The Briton, who is taking his place in the Mercedes after Valtteri Bottas for the coming season, is starting from second place for the second time in his career. It is the first time since Lance Stroll in Italy in 2017 that Williams has started a race in his most frequent starting position. Stroll finished fourth in qualifying, but benefited from starting penalties.

After the fall at the last Grand Prix in Hungary, Bottas received a starting place penalty of five places and started the event from 13th place. Stroll also receives a penalty and starts from the end of the grid in his Aston Martin.

Hard blow for Norris

During the second quarter, Lando Norris had a hard crash at Raidillon. Fortunately, the McLaren driver was uninjured and can start today’s race, but will receive a starting penalty of five places due to a gearbox change. Team-mate Daniel Ricciardo, on the other hand, experienced his best qualifying so far for McLaren.

Ferrari also has a lot of catching up to do. In short, it promises to be an exciting race. Follow the whole action below in our live blog!
