The world finally saw the return of Sebastian Vettel at the Monaco Grand Prix. After a disappointing start to life at Aston Martin, the German scored his first points of the season on Sunday with a P5 result.

Vettel had enough doubters before Monaco after his fights in the last four races. One of those doubters was F1 managing director Ross Brawn. In his regular post-race column, the Brit wrote about how the weekend in Monaco changed his previous view of Vettel.

Vettel didn’t seem to be in color at the Monaco Grand Prix weekend. After a disappointing season with Ferrari in 2020, he moved to Aston Martin in hopes of changing his fortune. In the first four races of the season, however, he finished no more than 13th place. In addition, his teammate Lance Stroll was the only driver to score points for the team.

In the Ross Brawn Column, the 66-year-old admits to having doubted Vettel as his terrible form was on the way to Monaco. The Brit wrote: “I openly admit I’ve had my doubts about him lately and he was a bit lackluster in his final years at Ferrari and then when he joined Aston Martin.”

Brawn believes Vettel showed his skills in Monaco

Though he doubted him before the race, Brawn was happy that Vettel was doing his best in Monaco. He applauded Vettel for his strong performance in the principality and let everyone know what he is capable of.

The Brit said: “Sebastian has definitely found his mojo in Monaco. His performance in the race was very strong and reminded us of what we expected from the four-time world champion. “

At the next race in Baku, many expect another strong performance from Vettel. Baku often hosts an unpredictable race and given the fighting this season, June 4th is no different. Can Vettel add more points to his list in the “Land of Fire”?
