Report: 2026 Entrants Audi Targeting This Historical F1 Team Despite Interests From Aston Martin

The much-anticipated Miami Grand Prix has just concluded with Max Verstappen as the clear winner. The inaugural race in the city of Miami saw the Ferraris and Red Bulls fight among each other for the top prize. Whereas, it was another tough weekend for the Aston Martin Cognizant F1 team.

Even though Lance Stroll managed to fetch one point, thanks to a five-second time penalty served by Fernando Alonso of Alpine. The other Aston Martin of Sebastian Vettel suffered DNF after colliding with Mick Schumacher of Haas.

As of now, the time’s vulnerable for the Silverstone-based team. Until they bring some great upgrades for their AMR-22s it’ll be hard for them to stay afloat in the much competitive lower mid-table of the championship. However, it is believed that the British team will come up with a bunch of upgrades for the next race.

What are the changes that can be expected from Aston Martin?

As F1 moves back to Europe up next, all the teams are expected to bring in major upgrades. The race in Miami saw the teams make little changes to their car before they unleash some major hauls to their car. For Aston Martin, as reported by AutoMotor, they can bring a semi-new car.

As per the sources, the engineers at Silverstone have been working on the upgrades before the start of the season. All in all, the Aston Martin fans can rejoice a little as they might expect a bit of fightback from the next Spanish Grand Prix race onwards.

The former Racing Point team has been struggling since the start of the season. As Aston Martin runs Mercedes power units, so they heavily lack straight-line speed as compared to Haas and Alfa Romeo who run Ferrari PUs, and AlphaTauri who runs Red Bull Powertrains Units.

After the fifth round of racing, the team from Britain is awarded six points and is placed at P9 in the Constructor’s Championship. Their drivers Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll are with four and two points each. All in all, Aston Martin is in dire need of some major upgrades if they want to stay back in the fight.
