The existing Racing Point roster will be renamed Aston Martin for 2021 after team owner Lawrence Stroll invested in the British manufacturer earlier this year.
The ambitions for the Aston Martin F1 project have resulted in four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel signing a multi-year contract for 2021, increasing the workforce by 20% and moving forward with plans to build a new factory.

Aston Martin traditionally rode in British racing green – a color that arose when teams raced in national colors in the early days of motorsport – on his first forays into motorsport and his brief stint in F1 in 1959 and 1960.
The manufacturer switched to a bright green color for its Aston Martin Racing sports car endeavors at the 2018 FIA World Endurance Championship and most recently used the scheme for its GTE Pro class win at the Le Mans 24 Hours last weekend.
However, the Aston Martin F1 project is set to run on British racing green next year, as Lance Stroll announced at the FIA press conference on Thursday in Sochi ahead of the Russian Grand Prix.
“I think it will be British racing green,” said Stroll, adding that the design “will be pretty cool”.
Autosport assumes that the existing Racing Point bosses have already reviewed initial design concepts for the Aston Martin rebranding, which includes the British colors of racing.
However, the color scheme should also retain the bright pink color of the existing title sponsor BWT, which has been the base coat of the car for the team since 2017.
Initial design concepts that were recently reviewed are considered rejected because they did not have enough pink.
Plans for the team’s Aston Martin rebranding in 2021 continue. The signing of Vettel, who is leaving Ferrari at the end of the season, will be announced earlier this month.
Stroll said he still had to sit down and officially discuss plans with Vettel for their time as teammates, but moved to welcome the German driver to the team.
“I just knocked on his motorhome in Mugello and shook his hand to welcome him to the team,” said Stroll.
“I’m very excited. I’m looking forward to it.”
