The Silverstone-based team has revamped its paint job this season for the iconic British racing green colors of its parent sports car maker.
But the dark green sometimes makes the AMR21 look similar to other cars on TV, especially the black Mercedes.
Earlier this week, Andreas Weissenbacher, CEO of the former title sponsor of the BWT team, urged the team to return to the previously conspicuous pink colors.

In an interview with Speedweek, he said, “Aston Martin CEO Lawrence Stroll understands that my heart is bleeding. If the Aston Martin were pink, title sponsor Cognizant would also have more fun because the recognition value would be much higher.
“From a business point of view that was wrong. Historically, the British racing green is certainly understandable for many, not for me. The Aston Martin does not stand out on television.”

Aston Martin team boss Otmar Szafnauer is however clear that there will be no return to the color green and certainly no return to a pink.
However, he admits that the look of the car on TV is an issue and that the outfit will cater for it.
“I think the color green suits us, that’s for sure,” he said at the Austrian GP. “I think it’s a stunning color in the sun and when you look at it in person.
“But I think we should try to make it stand out a bit more on TV without losing the green when you look at it outside.
“I don’t know if we can do that, but that’s one thing we want to do just to make sure it differs from some of the other darker cars on TV.”
While BWT has stayed on as a sponsor of Aston Martin and the car has pink stripes, Szafnauer said no amount of money could convince the team to give up their green.
“With the Aston Martin name and Aston Martin traditionally green, and we’re growing the Aston Martin Cognizant F1 team. I think it will stay green,” he said. “Ferrari is red. Aston Martin is green.”
