Aston Martin intends to bring its new aerodynamics boss Dan Fallows to the team before the start of next season.
The Fallows recruitment was announced by the team in June. However, his current employer Red Bull has previously announced that it will not fire him until his current contract expires in mid-2023.
Aston Martin CEO Otmar Szafnauer said the team are still negotiating Dan’s start date and as soon as that is known we will let everyone know.
However, he hopes Fallows will join before the 2022 F1 season kicks off on March 20th next year.
“Our goal is for it to be launched as soon as possible and sometime in the first quarter of next year,” said Szafnauer. “So if it is the beginning of the next season, it will be in the first quarter of next year. Hopefully we can start it in this timeframe. “
Another new Aston Martin employee, technical director Luca Furbatto, will join the Alfa Romeo team earlier. “Luca will be with us within weeks,” confirmed Szafnauer. “Like all, they have their notice periods and so on. In a few weeks Luca will be free to start with us. “
Aston Martin has launched an ambitious recruiting drive with the goal of winning the world championship within five years.
“The recruitment has not slowed down,” said Szafnauer, “but if they are not very high-ranking, we don’t announce them all. We hired over 150 people this year and will continue to do so. “
