Everyone was thrilled with the rebranding of Racing Point to Aston Martin for the 2021 season, but things haven’t gone that way yet. Although the team’s performance has not been particularly good this year, team boss Otmar Szafnauer has stated that the team’s higher positions do not exert any additional pressure.

The British team finished last season in fourth place with 195 points and were optimistic about the coming season. You came to Quadruple World, Master Sebastian Vettel, to work with Lance Stroll to bolster your title hopes.

Szafnauer doesn’t feel any pressure from team owner Stroll
Explaining how realistic the entire team is and what the position of the Silverstone team is, Szafnauer noted that their performance has not put them under any additional pressure from the Lawrence Stroll or the company’s shareholders.
As quoted by Autosport, he said: “None of us are satisfied with the situation we are in. We have to be realistic about what we can do with a frozen car, frozen rake, and regulations that will change significantly in 2022. ”

“So we just have to be realistic to understand the situation we are in and do the best we can with the car and the tools we have.”
“Of course there is always pressure if you don’t get where you thought you would. But as I said, we all have to be realistic and do what we can without jeopardizing the 2022 program, ”concluded Otmar.
How will Aston Martin perform at the Monaco Grand Prix?
The next race on the F1 calendar is the Monaco GP, a challenging road circuit in the French principality. Due to the lack of overtaking opportunities, qualifying in Monte Carlo is even more important as the results of the qualification often reflect the results of the race. So the team is hoping for a good qualifying so that they can have a good day in the office on Sunday.
Thursday’s first practice session gave the Silverstone team a rough idea of how well they’ll do on Sunday. Stroll finished eleventh, while his German team-mate Sebastian Vettel finished eighth.

Then, in FP2, Vettel only managed 10th place, while Stroll put down the pecking order and drove the 13th fastest lap of the session.
