However, while many were anticipating the contract renewal announcement in early 2021, reality had a different story to offer as the actual announcement came between the Italian GP and the Russian GP, which actually raised some concerns.

Well, Aston Martin’s team boss Otmar Szafnauer hopes that the talks in 2022 will be much less complicated and that the management and Vettel will be able to work more efficiently in order to conclude the contract as early as possible.
What did the Aston Martin boss say?
As reported by GP fans, Otmar announced that he would think about it during the winter break after the 2021 F1 season. “I haven’t even thought about it. We just got this, but good question behind us, let me think about it over Christmas, ”he said.
“Out of respect for Seb, we usually don’t reveal details of his contract and the things we’ve negotiated. We like Seb, he likes us and let’s see what happens. As I said, we could even think about it over Christmas. Let’s have a good year in 2022 and then decide. “

When asked whether it would be advantageous to sign Vettel at the beginning of 2022, Otmar admitted: “We will do that at the beginning of next year. It will help you too. Fewer questions. “
Overall, Vettel and Aston Martin have looked quite comfortable working together so far, with the former even starting to unlock his older form on the track.
