Home races put additional pressure on Alpine

Marcin Budkowski, Executive Director of Alpine Racing, knows that there is additional pressure associated with a home race. In addition, there is the exciting fight for fifth place in the constructors’ championship and an extremely important weekend is ahead for the team.

“A home race is something special for every team. Alpine is a French brand headquartered in France while the Formula 1 team is mainly based in the UK so we can even say we have two home races. It is a pleasure to represent Alpine on French soil, especially in such a beautiful region, but there is also extra attention given to the team. There are more fans who support us in the stands, VIPs and executives of the Renault Group and with it the additional pressure to perform. But once the race weekend starts, everyone is focused on getting the most out of the car, the drivers and the whole team, like with any race. “

Whether Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon can keep up with these conditions and score important points in the fight for fifth place in the constructors’ championship remains to be seen next weekend.
