A sad end to his time at Williams for Kubica

The Polish driver was due to leave the Grove team at the end of the 2019 season. The now 36-year-old finished nineteenth in the drivers’ championship with just one point. Not being able to keep up at the highest level he was aiming for was the final nail in the coffin.

He said, “I made the decision that I won’t be doing Williams after this year. “The decision opens up a bit of the chances for the future in different scenarios and now I will evaluate what is possible.”

When asked about another opportunity in Formula 1, he replied: “Of course my answer will be yes, but not.” [at any] cost, and I think I have to do what first brings me a bit of fun racing again. “

“This season was very tough in terms of performance, but also very demanding. To be back in Formula 1 after a long time is not easy, especially when you are in a difficult situation like us. Now at Alfa Romeo, with the opportunity to compete in practice, he will hope to prove his potential. Since Kimi’s state of health is uncertain, there is a possibility that we will see the Polish driver back in action at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.
