Although the helmet swap is not a new tradition in Formula 1; Alonso has influenced other drivers to do the same. And the new drivers to join this trend are Antonio Giovinazzi from Alfa Romeo and George Russell from Williams. Before the Belgian Grand Prix, the duo swapped helmets.

Antonio Giovinazzi wrote: “All the best for your future, Giorgino and sorry, Rome is coming.”

If you take it, take it. If not, he stays: Capito on Mercedes decision for George Russell

George Russell and his possible move to Mercedes next season have been speculation for months. The product of the Mercedes Junior Academy is rumored to replace Valtteri Bottas in the Silver Arrows. Meanwhile, Williams team boss Jost Capito believes George Russell will stay with the Wantage team if Mercedes renews Valtteri Bottas’ contract for the next season.

“It’s not even worth thinking about for us, because that’s a Mercedes decision. If you take it, take it. If not, he’ll stay, ”said Jost Capito.

“At the moment he would like to stay if he doesn’t get the Mercedes call because he likes the team. He sees how it goes on. If he doesn’t go to Mercedes, we will of course be happy to keep him. “
