Valtteri Bottas discusses 2023 Alfa Romeo targets

Valtteri Bottas speaks to the press

Valtteri Bottas has discussed what the targets might be for Alfa Romeo for 2023.

Alfa secured P6 in the standings by the skin of their teeth in the end as they just about saw off a resurgent Aston Martin team, and they can look forward to using that extra prize money to try and kick on for next year.

Certainly, it’ll be interesting to see just what they can do in 2023 as they keep trying to improve, and the plan will have to be to try and make sure any momentum, as was built at the start of 2022, can be maintained a little better with more regular developments and upgrades over the course of the season.

Progress for Alfa in 2023 would be to get into the top five and establish themselves in the points-paying places regularly each race weekend, then, which certainly looks tough on paper given the teams in front of them but, ultimately, if you don’ t aim to keep striving forwards what’s the point in being in F1?

Speaking at the end of the current season, then, Bottas discussed what the aims for 2023 might be and he had this to say:

“To be consistently [finishing] every race in the top 10 and sometimes having a shot to fight for the podium with a bit of luck, I think that’s more realistic for next year.”
