The Finnish driver gets an uncomfortable record on his name
As GPFans reports, the Mercedes driver started the race after the 18th pole position of his career. While it certainly gave him a race win, it also made him, along with Rene Arnoux, the driver with the most poles in Formula 1 without winning a championship.

Both Rene and Valtteri have achieved 18 pole positions during their time in F1. The next after them is the legendary driver Sir Stirling Moss, linked to Felipe Massa.
Rubens Barrichello is fifth with Ronnie Peterson at 14, while Jacky Ickx, Juan Pablo Montoya and Mark Webber are at 13.
Bottas can still get one or two pole positions before he ends his time at Mercedes. In the end, he could be the driver with the most pole position without a championship on his name.
