Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali said some “good news” was “soon” on the way but kept his cards close to his chest.
The series recently unveiled the preliminary 2022 calendar, which, as expected, has a record of 23 laps.
Domenicali has another major revelation ahead of him, however, and not that he tell us what it is.
Confirmation that the series has “reached a point where we can decide where F1 will go in the future” is very likely that the news from Domenicali relates to the new Formula 1 engines.
It was recently agreed that the MGU-H will be dismantled from the next generation of engines, which is expected to arrive in 2026.
It is a step that was presumably made to enable Porsche and Audi to enter series production as engine manufacturers. So maybe this is actually the confirmation that Domenicali now has for the Formula 1 timetable for the future.

“Looking to the future after 2022, there will soon be some other good news that I don’t want to spoil right now,” he wrote in his F1 State of the Nation article.
“We’re going in the right direction and we’ve reached a point where we can decide where F1 will go in the future.”
When we reach 2026, new or revised teams can also be at the start.
Michael Andretti was recently linked with the purchase of a majority stake in Sauber, the current operator of the Alfa Romeo F1 team.
Domenicali says this is a sign that Formula 1 is indeed in a healthy place and is generating a lot of interest.
“We hear that there are lots of prospects out there looking to buy teams, and that means that F1 is healthy as a company and that the decisions we make, such as introducing sustainable fuels and redesigning the power unit, are the right strategic technicals Approach are F1, ”explained Domenicali.
