Robert Kubica will make his race weekend debut with Alfa Romeo at the Styrian Grand Prix after being confirmed for an appearance in FP1.

The Polish driver switched from Williams to Alfa Romeo over the winter to become his test and reserve driver in support of Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi.

As part of a deal that brought Polish oil giant Orlen on board as the team’s defending champion, Kubica will play a handful of FP1 games this season, starting with the second visit to the Red Bull Ring this weekend.

“I’m looking forward to getting back active this weekend, especially after the long break that saw the whole world of motorsport watching,” he said. “As always, my goal is to provide our engineers and employees with as much data as possible. Give them my feedback from the cockpit.

“This weekend will be a whole new experience for everyone. We’ll be going to the place where we were a few days ago. So it’s about refining all the data we have collected during the Austrian Grand Prix and which to test. ” Adjustments that we want to make to the cars. “

Kubica, who scored a point on his return to F1 competition with Williams in 2019, will drive the Alfa Romeo C39 instead of Giovinazzi.
