The Alfa Romeo F1 Team is the backdrop and Formula 1 the inspiration for a classical music composition by pianist Vincent Corver that was released today on Alfa Romeo’s social media channels.

The music video features both a Steinway Grand Piano and an Alfa Romero-branded F1 car and race team.

The musical composition and video features both a Steinway Grand Piano and an Alfa Romero-branded F1 car and race team team.titled “Fortissimo,” which is a music term that translates into the Italian for “really fast” or “really strong,” was performed and recorded by Corver at the Circuit de Barcelona.

The Dutch-born, Switzerland-based artist is said to be a close follower of Formula 1.

“Fortissimo” was released in conjunction with a live performance of the piece by Vincent Corver at the team’s headquarters in Hinwil, Switzerland, with an audience composed of employees of Sauber Motorsport and their families, to further highlight the links between the music and the real heart of the team – the people working for it.

“Formula One has a global reach and our team has experienced a surge in interest from fields far from our traditional audiences,” said Alfa Romeo F1 team principal Frederic Vasseur. “It is an opportunity to reach out to new worlds, and we loved working with Vincent on this project. His vision for a dialogue between the car and the piano is something never done before like this, and the way he incorporated the sounds of our C42 and our crew in his music makes us feel part of this project. To us, racing is an art—and now, art has come to racing.”

Okay, so this isn’t breaking F1 news. But, hey, it’s the offseason.

Enjoy a two-minute break in a busy day during this hectic holiday season. We did.
