Ferrari reveals launch date for 2023 F1 car

Ferrari has announced the date that it will launch its 2023 Formula 1 challenger.

The wraps will come off the new car on February 14.

The car has not yet been officially named, but is currently being called ‘Project number 675’.

Ferrari, unlike other teams, does not follow a pattern when naming its F1 car.

The team enters the season hoping to step up its momentum and pose a championship challenge to rivals Red Bull, who dominated the 2022 season.

The Italian squad appeared to possess a title-contending car in the early stages, winning three of the opening four races.

However, on-track mistakes, reliability issues and strategy blunders saw its chances slip away as the season wore on.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will be back to partner each other for a third consecutive campaign at Ferrari.

But the team will have a new voice of leadership, with Frederic Vasseur arriving following several years at the helm of the Alfa Romeo F1 squad.

Vasseur takes over the role previously held by Mattia Binotto, who opted to depart the team at the conclusion of the 2022 campaign.

Ferrari ended last season second in the Constructors’ Championship, its highest result since 2019.
