
Alfa Romeo test driver Callum Illot has fought for the seat on the team for the next season. The current drivers Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Räikkönen are without a contract at the end of the season. And it’s believed the team could replace either or both drivers for the next season.

Illot used social media to annoy fans. He posted on his Instagram that there will be a big announcement from his side in a few hours.

Could Callum Ilott join Alfa Romeo in the 2022 season?
Illot finished second in the F2 championship behind Mick Schumacher in the 2020 season, but could not secure a seat. The Ferrari Academy driver joined the Swiss team as a test and third driver for the 2021 season.
Illot wrote in his post: “After a pretty disappointing GP, don’t worry, I’ll have news soon”

The announcement could concern his possible move to Alfa Romeo F1 for the 2022 season.

Illot had previously mentioned that he is confident he will be racing in F1 in the 2022 season. “I still think I’m in a very, very good position. Yes, I have to wait a year. I’ve seen people waiting for two. The focus is still on doing the best possible job on the GT side and on the FP1 side, and then hopefully there will be an opportunity, ”said Ilott.

It would be interesting to see if he moves to Alfa Romeo, which he will replace.
