The 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed is currently taking place in full in London. In keeping with the motto of celebrating and honoring motorsport maestros, the event featured many old and iconic motorsport cars, including some of the best F1 challengers of the old days.

In addition to the presentation of the cars, the events also welcomed the legends of motorsport and some current superstars. Drivers like Daniel Ricciardo, Emerson Fittipaldi and Mario Andretti drove some iconic liveries.

A compilation of all retro F1 cars and driver participants
As reported on the official Goodwood Festival website, recognized Formula 1 employees had the chance to get behind the wheel in retro F1 cars.
Emerson Fittipaldi, the two-time world champion, drove the Lotus 72 and Penske-llmor PC18. Then the current McLaren drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris could fulfill their childhood dreams; they drove Ayrton Senna’s 1990 McLaren-Honda MP4 / 5B. McLaren also had its Monaco Gulf Livery at the festival.

An entire segment of cars has been dedicated to former Formula 1 world champion Mario Andretti, such as the 1974 Lola T332, the Lotus 77 and the Alfa Romeo 179C, to name a few. But the American motorsport legend chose his 1974 Lola T332, Lotus-Cosworth 79 and Lotus-Cosworth 49B for a spin at the festival.
In the new classic F1 livery, Alex Albon drove the Red Bull-Renault RB7, while Anthony Davidson and Esteban Gutierrez drove the all-conquering Mercedes W10. Marc Gene drove the stunning Ferrari SF70 while Jenson Button drove the Williams-Cosworth FW08.

Daniel Ricciardo got emotional driving the Senna’s Mclaren
McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo was quite emotional when he got the chance to drive Ayrton Senna’s iconic 1990 McLaren. On this occasion, the Woking team wished their newest team member the best of luck.

In the post shared by Mclaren, the Australian driver said, “As a kid I would have done anything to stand next to this car, let alone drive it. So I like to clean it up, ”said Daniel.
