Charles Leclerc once narrated an emotional anecdote about his father to Will Buxton and the latter could not hold back his tears.

Leclerc’s father Herve was also a racer and competed in Formula 3 but he could never make it to the top of the sport.

It was Herve’s dream to get his son into Formula 1 but he could not see that happen as he was suffering from a longtime illness and he passed away at the age of 54.

Charles Leclerc makes Will Buxton cry

Speaking in an interview with Buxton, Leclerc recalled a story and appreciated his father for all the hard work he has done to get Leclerc into F1.

He said that he remembers in 2017 before he had actually signed a deal with the Alfa Romeo F1 team, he told his father that he got signed in F1 to make him happy.

Leclerc said, “I knew the end was near. I’m very happy to have managed to do that. Now I’m in Monaco, racing in F1 and he can see that from up there.”

After hearing the story, Buxton could not hold back his tears and choked up and Leclerc just tapped on his shoulder to console him.

Leclerc was mentored by his father in his junior years as a karter and Herve taught him the most important lesson.

In an interview with Goodwood Road and Racing, Leclerc spoke about how much influence his father had on him. He revealed that his father prepared him for everything and always taught him to stay humble.

The moment he started winning races in karting, he was seven. He admitted that at the age of seven winning races makes you think that you are the best and his father used to tell him ‘Calm down, Charles.’

Leclerc has more chances of winning in 2023

F1 expert Peter Windsor thinks that the kind of success that Max Verstappen and Red Bull have had in the recent past will continue.

But he also thinks that Ferrari would also capitalize on the improvement that they made in the last year and Leclerc will have a better chance of clinching the title than Lewis Hamilton and George Russell in their Silver Arrows.

Windsor believes that Ferrari would be able to improve their car to a level that they can compete with Red Bull more than Mercedes.
