The two F1 teams, together with football clubs such as FC Barcelona, ​​Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and AC Milan, will offer fan tokens via the Chiliz blockchain.

The fan tokens can be brought by fans and offer their owners the opportunity to participate in voting decisions, earn VIP rewards or take part in exclusive promotions. The tokens can also be traded on the crypto markets.

The teams receive a percentage commission for each token sold as well as part of the trading fees generated by buying and selling the tokens on major exchanges such as Binance or with the Chiliz crypto platform.

Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Socios and Chilz, told Motorsport.com earlier this year: “In 2020 we as a company sold tokens for all of our partners worth more than 30 million US dollars. This means that the clubs generated more than $ 15 million in total.
