Robert Kubica will return to Alfa Romeo’s Formula 1 machines during practice for the Styrian Grand Prix this coming weekend.
Formula 1 organizes successive events on the weekends of June 27th and July 4th at the Red Bull Ring, with the Styrian GP title being awarded in the first run.
It is expected to be Kubica’s seventh practice run for Alfa Romeo after joining as a test and reserve driver prior to the 2020 season, having previously played at the Spanish Grand Prix last month.
Kubica will replace Kimi Raikkonen for Friday’s hour-long session.
“The team has taken some big steps forward recently and you can feel the trust throughout the squad,” said Kubica.
“I know how important it is to keep the momentum and am ready to do my part to ensure that the two weekends in Austria are as successful as possible.”
Kubica already has experience with the Red Bull Ring in 2021, having won the European Le Mans Series race on site last month.
