The Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​is just around the corner, and the list of automakers bringing their latest cars includes Alfa Romeo, who will be taking their Giulia GTA and GTAm sports sedans to the iconic hill climb. The 1.86km climb gives the British the opportunity to see Alfa Romeo’s most powerful road car in action when it happens this weekend.

The Giulia GTA / GTAm offers a variety of upgrades even over the Quadrifoglio, with things like the engine, chassis and aerodynamics being optimized. Sauber Engineering and Alfa Romeo F1 drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi were all involved in the development of the car after spending some time at the Balocco Proving Ground honing its dynamics.

Both the GTA and the GTAm are powered by a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, which sends 533 hp (540 hp / 397 kW) to the rear wheels via a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and thus reaches 100 km / h. 97 km / h) from a standing start in 3.6 seconds. In addition, the GTA / GTAm are 100 kg lighter than the 1,806 lb (1,726 kg) Quadrifoglio thanks to the significant use of carbon fiber, Lexan windows instead of glass, central locking wheels and a rear seat clear.

The car’s suspension has all new springs, shock absorbers and bushings, and the total track width has been increased by 50mm. On the aerodynamic front, both the GTA and the GTAm have new bumpers, side skirts, flared fenders and heat sinks, while the GTAm also has a large wing at the rear.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​takes place from July 8th to 11th, where you can watch the different cars climb the hill.
