The Alfa Romeo F1 team has received a review from the FIA of the bizarre penalty imposed on Kimi Raikkonen after the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
Raikkonen had finished ninth in Imola, but later received a stop-go penalty, which was converted into a 30-second time penalty after the race because he had his position behind the safety car after a spin before restarting with a red Had not recaptured the flag.

The time penalty dropped Raikkonen from the points, which led to some confusion about the exact justification of the penalty, which, given the finances involved, could be decisive for the constructors’ championship at the end of the season.
Following a petition to the stewards to request a review, it has now been granted after a hearing in Portimão on Friday.
Alfa Romeo provided extensive documentation during the video hearing, which was checked for relevance.
It was found that while some of the documents were irrelevant, other materials and arguments were sufficient for the stewards to decide that a review should be approved, which is due to take place on Sunday at 11 a.m.
