Alfa Romeo went into the second half of the season with three points in their luggage and did not have the best start to the season. They didn’t have any catastrophic problems but couldn’t keep up with the rest of the grid. In a recent interview, team boss Fred Vasseur recognized the need for change.

He told GPFans: “We have to improve on every single topic. The good mobility of a racing team is to concentrate individually on your own job and to be convinced that we can do a better job tomorrow than today. ”

In order to build morale and keep the whole team focused on winning, Vasseur is hoping for better results in the second half.

“It has to be the approach of 500 people, including the drivers.”
Focus on Alfa Romeo drivers
Antonio Giovinazzi has one point against his name and Kimi Raikkonen has two. Although the cars did well in qualifying, the results were not reflected in the race on Sunday. As a result, Vasseur stated: “Every single team member could do a better job.”
Frederic Vasseur fell to ninth place in the championship ahead of Haas with no points and feels that it’s up to him to push the team. “That’s the purpose of my business to try to get the best out of everyone and try to give room for personal improvement, including the drivers.”
Analyzing the drivers’ performance, he added: “It is clear that Antonio is doing a good job in qualifying, better than Kimi so far, and I would say that it is not quite the opposite, but roughly the opposite for the race . “

He also mentioned Raikkonen. “We could expect the situation to change a little for Kimi, help him do a better job in qualifying, drive a better race with him, with tire management, race management.”
In fact, 2020 was not a good year for the team, which ended with five points and eighth place overall. So Vasseur’s frustration with the team is more than adequate. Hopefully we will see the Swiss team climb the points by the end of the season.
