Alfa Romeo C41 revealed: Fresh look for Alfa Romeo with the launch of the C41 car for 2021

Alfa Romeo 2021 challenger the C41 broke cover when the team unveiled the car at a ceremony in Warsaw, Poland.

Alfa Romeo is one of only three teams to stick to their 2020 line-up this season. The C41 will be driven by the pairing Kimi Räikkönen and Antonio Giovinazzi – who are starting their third season as teammates – while the former F1 winner Robert Kubica will also be part of the squad as test and reserve driver.

Regarding the car itself, Alfa Romeo has opted for a boldly revised version of the paintwork of their 2020 C39 machine – while the C41 also has a revised front section with a slimmer nose than the C39 in conjunction with the changes to the floor and passage areas according to the Ordinance 2021.

Alfa Romeo hopes the arrival of the C41 will spell an upswing for the team after a difficult 2020 with Raikkonen and Giovinazzi only scoring eight points as the team lagged eighth in the constructors’ championship.

An important part of that equation, however, will be the performance of Ferrari’s new 066 powerplant for 2021, which will also be powered by Haas and Ferrari themselves.

ANALYSIS: Why Alfa Romeo kept Raikkonen and Giovinazzi for 2021

Regarding the team’s goals for 2021, Alfa Romeo team principal Fred Vasseur said the goal is for the team to rise to the top of the pecking order in midfield – but admitted that it would be “a long way” to get there to achieve.

“I think the most important thing for a racing team is to keep improving,” said Vasseur. “To be honest, we want to improve, the entire team is pursuing the same goal and we have to get back to the top of the midfield step by step. We know it’s a long way, but we’re working on it and improving step by step. “

We’ll see if they have improved when the Alfa Romeo C41 is driven for the first time in the pre-season test drives that will take place at the Bahrain International Circuit from March 12-14 – ahead of the season opening of the Grand Prix from Bahrain on March 28th.
