Road closures in place for Red Bull Homerun event in Central Milton Keynes

Road closures have been confirmed in place for the Red Bull Homerun event set to take place in Milton Keynes tomorrow (10/12).

The Milton Keynes-based Red Bull Racing F1 team will be hosting an event in Central Milton Keynes to celebrate winning the Driver’s and Constructor’s Championships in 2022.

During the event, their F1 race drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will drive demo runs on Midsummer Boulevard in the city center in a free-to-enter event.

Supporting drives will also be done by Red Bull-backed motorsport athletes in motorcycle freestyle, drift racing, NASCAR and WRC categories.

The event will start from 12pm and run until 3pm, with the F1 drives to take place from 1:10pm and 2:40pm.

As part of the Red Bull Homerun event, roads will be closed for public use during the event.

Midsummer Boulevard is to be closed as the main road that the show runs will take place on, while supporting roads in the city center that cross Midsummer Boulevard will also be closed.

These are Grafton Gate, Witan Gate and Saxon Gate.

Child’s Way and Silbury Boulevard will remain open, as will Avebury Boulevard, although the latter’s junctions with the 3 fully closed sections will be closed.

Roads began to be closed over the course of the last few days, and will re-open gradually between 4pm on Sunday December 11th and 9pm on Tuesday December 13th.

There are also parking suspensions in place on areas adjacent to Midsummer Boulevard while the event is taking place.

Parking will be available elsewhere in Central Milton Keynes while buses are in operation. There is also a “Park and Stride” service available where people can park at the National Bowl music venue and walk up.

As part of the set-up, a small paddock has been set up on Midsummer Boulevard between Witan Gate and Grafton Gate.

Red Bull Racing have said that people can visit the paddock area where people can take a look-over of the cars and bikes when they’re not in use.

Verstappen and Perez will be driving an RB7 car, which was driven by Red Bull in 2011 when Sebastian Vettel won the F1 Driver’s Championship and the team won the Constructor’s Championships.
