Ford has been linked with a return to Formula 1 and possibly with Red Bull as a partner.
RacingNews365.com recently discussed why that step would make sense for one of the worlds largest car makers, but there is still hurdles to overcome.
The reports were not actively confirmed or denied by Ford Performance Global Director, Mark Rushbrook, in a recent media call for NASCAR which the manufacturer also competes in.
“It should be clear that we are here to talk about NASCAR. We are focused on that class,” said Rushbrook.
“It is certainly true that there is plenty of speculation about this, but that is nothing to which we will respond to substantively.”
