Where does the Dutch Grand Prix take place?

Formula 1 is returning to Zandvoort for the first time in 35 years, with the last Grand Prix taking place in 1985 in the Dutch city on the beach. The route from Zandvoort is visually exciting, with curved curves and embankments and a long straight.

However, a lot has been done in the narrow lane when it comes to overtaking. Like Hungary and Monaco, the toughest tracks on the calendar to overtake, don’t expect much racing action here. Qualifying will be of the utmost importance, but mistakes at Zandvoort are punished with its unforgiving layout.

Tips and recommendations for the F1 Dutch Grand Prix

Tip: Fastest qualification and race win – Max Verstappen (+150)

Some of the coolest scenes of the F1 season have occurred in Austria and Belgium, where a dense Dutch audience has donned all the orange and orange flairs to show their support for their country’s megastar Max Verstappen. They won’t travel that far this time as F1 is returning to the Netherlands for the first time in Verstappen’s career.

The title challenger, who is just a few points behind Lewis Hamilton, will have a great chance to reward his rabid home support this weekend. Red Bull’s superior downforce over Mercedes will be a huge advantage in the roller coaster ride that appears to be Zandvoort, just like in Monaco, where Verstappen overtook Hamilton and won the race. Verstappen’s chances of winning (+110) are as good as good, but qualifying will also be crucial and there is no reason to expect success on just one of the two days.

Verstappen will put on a show in front of his home crowd and recapture the championship lead.

Tip: podium placement – Charles Leclerc (+400)

Let’s try again. We loved Leclerc’s chances of finishing on the podium at the Hungaroring, but after a solid qualifying in which he finished 0.007 seconds behind the start in the third row, his race was ruined on a chaotic first lap. However, the same logic applies here that led us to believe in Leclerc in Budapest. The Ferrari shines on tracks that require a lot of downforce, which should be the case at Zandvoort this weekend.

Leclerc was the fastest man on the Monaco track, qualified in pole position and appeared to have excellent race pace in Hungary before his car was abandoned. Since neither Sergio Perez from Red Bull nor Valtteri Bottas from Mercedes are in top form at the moment, there should be a podium finish. We want Leclerc to take it and get his second podium of the season.

Tip: Both Cars Finish Points – McLaren – No (+125)

Few things make us less enjoyable about F1 picks than pale the hugely personable Daniel Ricciardo, but here we are. The Australian’s first season at McLaren was an up and down, with his struggles adapting to an entirely different car that is now familiar. Every time he appears to have a breakthrough, like a sixth place in the French Grand Prix, there is a setback, like his 13th place in the Syrian Grand Prix, which immediately followed France.

Ricciardo’s performances were heavily track dependent and that’s bad news for McLaren fans ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix. Zandvoort seems to be exactly the kind of track that Ricciardo is not yet navigating well in the papaya car. It will be crucial to carry the speed through the corners and Ricciardo has struggled with it this year as the performances in Monaco and Austria were particularly tough.

With Zandvoort being a completely new track for F1 fans and drivers alike, there are a lot of gray areas at the weekend, but the track tells us that Ricciardo may have a hard time performing here.

How to bet on Formula 1

The most popular way to bet on Formula 1 odds is to simply pick the winner of a particular race. Other popular F1 betting options include which car / designer wins and whether or not a particular racer will finish on the podium with a top 3 finish.

The odds for F1 races usually look like this:

This means that if Vettel wins that particular race you will win $ 650 on a bet of $ 100. If a driver is particularly dominant, you may see a minus sign (-) in front of that driver’s odds, like this:

This means that if Hamilton wins the race, you have to wager $ 175 to win $ 100.
