Mercedes have announced vehicle lifecycle management software firm Solera as new team sponsors on a multi-year deal.

The agreement will see the Solera branding appear on the team’s car and on the left sleeve of the drivers’ and pit crew’s overalls, as well as on team clothing.

Their logo will also be featured on the Mercedes-Benz AMG car used for ‘Hot Laps’ at a race weekend this season, with Solera describing themselves as the ‘global leader in vehicle lifecycle management software-as-a-service, data, and services’, with more than 300,000 customers worldwide in over 100 countries.

Mercedes CEO and team principal Toto Wolff said: “Data innovation, combined with the drive for ultimate performance through people, processes, and technology, are hallmarks of a successful business and team.

“We are delighted to welcome Solera to the team as a partner, not only due to their reputation as an industry leader but owing to our shared beliefs and values.”

“It is fantastic to welcome Solera to our growing partner family,” Richard Sanders, Mercedes’ commercial director added. “As leaders in our respective industries, there are many synergies between our two businesses. We are excited to begin our relationship and highlighting the Solera brand to our global audience.”

“Solera and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team share the same commitment to transform the automotive industry,” said Darko Dejanovic, CEO of Solera. “That’s why we’re excited about this collaboration. It presents an opportunity to break new boundaries and inspire excellence on a global scale.”

Mercedes will be looking to get back to the top after a disappointing 2022 season by their high standards saw them take one victory and third place in the Constructors’ Championship, having won the previous eight titles in a row.

The Silver Arrows will be launching the all-new W14, featuring Solera branding for the first time, on Wednesday 15 February, before pre-season testing gets underway in Bahrain the following week.
