Mercedes F1 Boss Toto Wolff Is Selling His Ferrari F40

In the market for a well-sorted vintage Ferrari with some serious ownership provenance? We have just the car for you. Mercedes F1 boss Toto Wolff is selling his low-mileage, recently restored 1990 Ferrari F40 right now.

Listed for sale at UK dealership Tom Hartley JNR, chassis no. 087007 has covered just 3440 miles from new, and recently received a “complete overhaul” by the experts over at Autofficina Bonini Carlo Srl, a restoration shop in Italy. It’s also received its Ferrari “Red Book” classiche certification, confirming its original chassis, body panels, engine, and transmission. According to the listing’s description, it’s one of just 27 examples originally delivered to the Spanish market.

This isn’t the first time Wolff’s sold part of his collection publicly. The Mercedes F1 CEO sold his LaFerrari Aperta, Enzo, and SL65 AMG Black Series through Tom Hartley back in 2021. According to Motor Authority, he said at the time he simply didn’t have time to drive the cars. Not surprising considering there are now 23 confirmed rounds on the 2023 Formula 1 calendar.

The dealership doesn’t list an asking price, though considering the low mileage, recent work done, and Wolff’s ownership, we’re betting they’re looking for a fair bit more cash versus your average F40. For the right collector, it might just be worth the premium.
